I bought a Disney animation desk off Ebay and it finally arrived. Manhandling a 200-300 lbs desk around tight corners and narrow doors is a lot of fun...I highly recommend trying it sometime.
This one came from the Florida studios and was one that got donated to a local college. The college didn't need it anymore and it went to anyone who was willing to take it. Someone from the college took it home with plans to modify it into a regular desk. Fortunately (for me), unfortunately (for her) she was moving and couldn't take it with her. So, it went on ebay....
I guess there were several variations on these desks, if anyone can help me identify the type of desk this is, I'd really appreciate it.

wow, i want a desk like that! gorgeous, i hope you find out what it was!
really awsome blog!!
Looks like it's also a Lucy. Similar to an artograph. You can place a picture/illustration in the compartment below the light table and resize it how ever you like.
You lucky devil. I've always wanted one of those!
The chunk of metal beneath the light box is actually a hydraulic tilting mechanism. You release/lock into place with the lever on the side. It can be positioned so you can draw standing, sitting, on one leg, wearing stiletto heels with fishnet stockings and....
It's a nice desk.
I didn't know it was customized to work in tangent with fishnet stockings. This is a helluva desk!
I had one of these when I worked at Disney. It's an animator's desk. The layout version had only one set of drawers and a longer drawing surface. They were made in the late 80's to mid 90's. I had the chance to buy one for only $3,000.00 but declined because they were so freakin' heavy. I didn't want to throw out my back for a piece of furniture. They are cool though. Hope you got a good price for it!
